  • FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2024

    No whales seen at Point Arena Lighthouse peninsula or at Saunders Reef.
    AT PAL:

     * 82 harbor seals

    * 2 American kestrels

    * 1 red-tailed hawk

     * 1 Great blue heron


  • WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2024

    Observations from the Point Arena Lighthouse peninsula:

    * 3 humpback whales

     * 18 harbor seals

     * 1 red-tailed hawk

    * 2 American kestrels

    * 1 Great blue heron

    NO WHALES SEEN AT SAUNDERS REEF

     


  • TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2024

    After observing both at Saunders Reef and then at the Point Arena Lighthouse peninsula and finding no whales, we journeyed north to Vista Point at the north end of Irish Beach.

    There we spotted one humpback whale.

    AT PAL:

    * 3 harbor seals swimming near their haul out sites at high tide

     * 2 American kestrels

     *1 red-tailed hawk

    On this foggy Monday, we were able to spot one humpback whale at the Point Arena Lighthouse peninsula.  While there we observed:

    * 7 harbor seals swimming by their haul out site

    * 2 red-tailed hawks

     * 1 American kestrel
