After several days of fog, rain, strong wind, and huge waves, we finally had a sunny day with good visibility. The ocean was still quite turbulent and there were large whitecaps.

AT THE POINT ARENA LIGHTHOUSE PENINSULA:

๐Ÿ’  NO WHALES SEEN

๐Ÿ’  6-8 harbor seals bottling and swimming around the rocks at their haul out sites
at high tide

๐Ÿ’  4 black oystercatchers

๐Ÿ’  4 black turnstones

๐Ÿ’  2 great blue herons

๐Ÿ’  1 red-tailed hawk

๐Ÿ’  6-7 killdeer

๐Ÿ’  2 American kestrels

AT SAUNDERS REEF:

๐Ÿ’  1 humpback traveling south
